Joseph Hooper Finley, son of J. D. and Sarah F. Finley, was born, July 15th, 1876, and departed this life, October 9th, 1902, aged 26 years, 2 months and 24 days.

He leaves a father and mother, three brothers and four sisters, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death.

He returned here from Joplin, Mo., about two months ago, in the last stage of consumption, and gradually grew worse until his death relieved the suffering.

Services were held at Mt. Olivet church, on Friday, by the pastor, Rev. I. N. Johnson assisted by Rev. R. D. Ellis. The services were very largely attended.
