SARAH FRANCES OWEN
Sarah Frances Owen, daughter of Obediah and Elizabeth Owen, was born Nov. 4, 1849, at what is now the home farm, where she lived practically all of herlife.
She died March 16, 1930, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 12 days. She became a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church in childhood, and remained faithful to the close of a long and useful life.
She was married to the late J. D. Finley April 16, 1868. To this union eight children; 4 boys and 4 girls were born. The husband and one son Joseph preceded her in death. The other children; Chas., Ray, Della, Mrs. Homer Redd and Mrs. Pearly Taylor, all of Wayne county, Calvin C., of Wichita, Kans.; Mrs. Ray Brown, of Silver Lake, Kan., are still living.
Besides the children there are now living 16 granchildren and five great-grandchildren, one brother, O. C. Owen, and two half-sisters.
The deceased was always faithful in her relations to her family, her friends and neighbors, her church and her Lord and Master.
All of the children, except Mrs. Ray Brown, who could not attend the funeral because of illness in her family, were present at the funeral.
Those who know Sister Finley best feel assured that she has prepared
for her
"A house not made with hands,
but eternal in the heavens."
