Wayne City Farmer, Dies
March 9, 1989

Elmer Barnard, 86, Wayne City, a retired farmer died at 10 a.m. Wednesday March 8, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
His death was the result of a stroke.

Services Friday

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Wayne City with Rev. Max Borah officiating. Burial will be in the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.

Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Thursday (today) at Richardson’s and from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the Methodist Church.

Mr. Barnard was born June 20, 1902 in Wayne County, the son of Eli and Melvina (Henson) Barnard.

On June 13, 1925 he married Carmen Peddicord in Johnsonville.

He was a retired farmer, having farmed most of his life north of Wayne City. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Wayne City.

The Survivors

Surviving are his wife, Carmen of Wayne City; a brother, Ralph Barnard of rural Cisne and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
