as Sgt. in the GA Militia. By 1810, he moved to Haywood Co., NC,
then briefly in TN. Abt 1819, he went to Wayne Co., IL, living near
the SHORES, LANEs and BIRKS. In 1835, Aquilla
and his wife, Rhoda, moved to Greene Co. and later Craighead Co., AR with
their children, John, Hugh, Margaret (HARGROVE), William, Thomas,
Jesse, Aquilla Jr., Malinda (ISHMAEL), and my ancestor, Pulliam
who m. Eleanor RUTHERFORD. Other families moving with them
are the HIGGINBOTHAMs, ISHMAELs, RUTHERFORDs, EDWARDS,
and grandson, Nelly D. McVAY. Looking for descendants and
researchers of Aquilla and his children.

I had requested a death certificate for him and they stated no record.
He should have d. abt 1943. He was suppose to be b. 1877 in Wayne
Co., IL. If anyone can check for a birth cerificate or death certificate,
I would greatly appreciate it. Also looking for any suggestions.
I have spoken to my dad, but he doesn't remember much of him.

or LA BRUCE, French. Thomas Marion LEATHERS was the
son of Alfred (Alf) LEATHERS, full Cherokee, d. 1888, m. Eva HERLET-MELTON-BULLARD
(Alf was her 3rd husband), full Irish, and had six children, James, Nathan,
Ella, John Baptist, Thomas Marion, and Elmer Lewis. Trying to trace
back to WestWind LEATHERFACE (West LEATHERS), Cherokee chief
who moved around Wayne City and Fairfield, IL abt 1790-1800. He had
6 boys and 1 dau.: Westley, John, Ray, Alfred (Alf), Lou-eye-sa (dau.),
do not have the other names.
