Trying to locate info. on Thomas BROWN, m. Drucella CAMP,
and had the following children: Joseph Milton BROWN, b. Oct 27,
1889; Oral; Walter; Cindy; and Iva. Thomas died when the children
were small and Drucella remarried a gentleman with last name MANN.
Milton m. Mar 28, 1917 in Fairfield to Mary Edna GILLISON, and the
following children were b. in Fairfield: James, Eldon, Leona, Dale, and
Alice. They moved to IA in 1929 and later had Earl and Rachel.
The story has been passed down that Milton had owned a lumber mill in Wayne
Co. at one time and that the first church services held in Fairfield were
held in the GILLISON home. The GILLISON's also had
oil wells in this area. We do have info. on the GILLISON side
but none farther back on the BROWN side other than Thomas and Drucella.
We believe that Thomas served with Co. K, 111th Infantry during the Civil
War. I would appreciate any info. that anyone has on any of the above
surnames or following individuals: Hull, Jet, and James GILLISON;
and Nancy SHEPARD. My great uncle still is living in Fairfield
and states that the surnames FILES and TULLIS are somehow
related on the GILLISON side. Thank you for any info.
