Surnames: BLACK, BRADLEY, CREWS, ELLIOTT, GRAY, GREGORY, INSKEEP, MARTIN, OWEN, SHAW, WILSON
Researching Andrew CREWS, m. Ritter BRADLEY, and their children: James, m. Elizabeth OWEN; and William, m. (1) Catherine SHAW, m. (2) Melinda MARTIN. Child of James and Elizabeth: Andrew, b. 1837, d. 1895, m. Mary J. WILSON. Children of Andrew and Mary: Sam, m. Gertie __?__; Mary, m. Ed BLACK; Lizzie, m. Jim GREGORY; Roscoe Conklin, b. 1881, d. 1973, m. Mary Ethel GRAY, b. ?, d. 1960. I also have a mystery to solve regarding Roscoe Conklin CREWS and Mary Ethel GRAY. Mary's brother, Nathan GRAY, married a woman named Ross. After Nathan and Mary died, Roscoe (Ross) married Nathan's widow (Ross). Okay. In the marriage listings at Ancestry.com, and also at a couple sites on the Internet, I found a marriage between Nathaniel S. GRAY, b. 1845, Nathan's and Mary Ethel's father, and Myrtle Ross INSKEEP ELLIOTT, which supposedly took place in 1930 in Fairfield. Myrtle and her first husband, James ELLIOTT, had a dau. named Ross. My mystery: Did the marriage between Myrtle and Nathaniel really take place? Was Myrtle's dau., Ross, Nathan's wife? Does this mean Nathaniel married his son's mother-in-law? Can anybody help me clear this up?

Surnames: BROWN, CUNNINGHAM, FRAULI
Looking for info. on both John FRAULI and James BROWN
who paid $5000 in 1861 for 14 acres and a mill, called Franklin Mill in
the deed, in Wayne Co. on Cottonwood Creek, sometimes known as Willow Branch
Creek. Also looking for info. on Benjamin and Sarah CUNNINGHAM,
husband and wife. He moved to IL in the middle 1800s and started
the above-mentioned Franklin Mill in Wayne Co. on Cottonwood Creek and
sold it to John FRAULI and James BROWN. I understand
that CUNNINGHAM later started a bank in Flora, IL with a partner.

(Q156) 20 Jan 1998 - Cynthia Elledge Snider
Surnames: DALE, ELLEDGE
I have been trying to get to records in Wayne Co., IL for about 20 years
and am writing a book about my ELLEDGE ancestors who originated
there and were there in 1818 or before. I am looking for the following
ELLEDGEs:
Thornbury (Berry), Joel, John W., Isaac, William, or any
ELLEDGE.
I know the court house burned. The era of my search is from 1818-1850,
especially to see if there is a death record or see if there is a probate
or death record for Thornbury. Or, any
ELLEDGE marriage records
in White or Wayne Co. I have what is in the History of Wayne and
Clay Counties, Illinois, 1884. It has an article about Thornbury
(Thornborough, Thornburgh) having a stroke and falling off his horse and
animals and a fire all around him yet his kin found him, but he was a cripple
yet was the first, or almost first, schoolmaster in Wayne Co. Are
there any ELLEDGEs or DALEs living in Wayne Co. now?
The last record I have involving anyone in Thornbury's family was when
his dau. m. DALE.

Surnames: ANDREWS, CLEMENT, KIMBREL-KIMBRELL- CEMBREL
I am looking for any info. on my KIMBREL (KIMBRELL, CEMBREL)
family. They were in Wayne Co. from before 1850-1865. They
had several children who must have been born there including several who
are reputed to have been buried in the Camp Ground Cemetery, which I have
been told is in Clay Co. In 1860, their census area appears to read
[TIV] RSE. I would like to hear from anyone who has any info. about
the KIMBRELLs, the cemetery, the area, anything! They were
related to the CLEMENT and ANDREWS families who were there
at that time.
