Am trying to locate the parents of Elizabeth HALL, b. 1818/19 in Big Mound Twp., Wayne Co., IL, m. (1) John CLEVENGER, m. (2) Levi CROSS. See her obituary from Sep 22, 1904 on the Miscellaneous page.
Periodically in reading old files and newspapers, I see info. about
relationships. I keep wishing that I could find just one relative
to my William Andrew CLEVENGER, so I could verify my family tree,
but so far, no luck. However, I constantly see little pieces that
might be helpful to others in the same predicament. Please let me
know if you indeed find your missing piece.
1. Thomas TAYLOR, of Fairfield, has a brother, Pierce TAYLOR,
of CO.
2. John TAYLOR, b. 1836 in OH, d. Jul 24, 1894 near Johnsonville
at the age of 58, leaving a widow and 2 children.
7. James TAYLOR, b. Mar 4, 1871, d. Aug 4, 1894 at age 23, leaving
a mother and 2 sisters. The wife of Rev. S. E. TAYLOR has
a dau., Ette, and 3 sons, Howard, Paul, and DeWitt.
8. Frank HALL spent 3 months Beaumont and Waco, TX. He
is thinking of moving there in the fall. Griffith TAYLOR has
relatives in Jefferson Co.
34. Henry TAYLOR of Orchardville has two sons Master Harvey
and Master Oliver.

Searching for any info. on the MELTON family of Wayne Co., IL.
The first ancestor I know of was John MELTON who m. Susannah BROWN
probably in Caswell Co., NC. They were in Wayne Co. in 1826.
I do find the surname MELTON in 1830-60 censuses, but have no idea
of their children. A Leonard MELTON in the 1830 census is
likely a son since Susannah's father was Leonard BROWN. Anyone

school teacher, who lived with them and d. 1867 at their home. Nancy
also had a brother, William CLARK, who d. in 1887. A Florence
CLARK (mother, sister, sister-in- law??) who was in Centralia at
the same time.

Looking for any info. on Orlando Morris ALLEN who was b. around
1914 or 1916 and d. 1984. He was b. in Wayne city and had moved to
Peoria, IL or Chicago, IL where he was m. to an Elenora LETUS.
There were three children born by them: 1) Robert Phillip ALLEN,
m. Sarah Jo ALLEN, had children Stephen Edward ALLEN and
Carolyn Jo ALLEN; 2) Orlando Morris ALLEN, m. Gladys R.,
had children Christopher ALLEN and Justin ALLEN; 3) LeeAnn
ALLEN, m. Larry ARMSTRONG, had children Alice Elizabeth ARMSTRONG
and Andy ARMSTRONG. The only other thing I know is that a

Looking for info. on Robert Elvis CLEVENGER, m. Oct 20, 1910 to Oma Ruth HUTCHCRAFT. I believe that he was b. possibly in Aden or McLeansboro. Also looking for info. on Charles Sylvester WEASEL, b. Sep 1898, m. Autha Inez DOWNEN. His last name has been changed from what I do not know?? That is one of the things I am trying to figure out. Charles was a WWI veteran, a baptist minister in that area for over 65 years. Surnames associated with these families include HALL, GAMBLE, BRASIER, and CRISEL. Any help appreciated.
