Lawrence and Mary O'Leary of Fairfield, observed their 50th wedding anniversary on May 8, 1996. They were married May 8, 1946 at St. Stephens Church in Flora. The couple met after Lawrence served three years in the U.S. Marine Corp in WW II. They moved to St. Louis after their marriage where Lawrence graduated from David Rankin Technical School

Lawrence is the son of the late Joseph and Maggie O'Leary of Fairfield Mary is the daughter of the late Michael and Mayme Allison of Flora.

Lawrence has been in the heat and refrigeration business in Fairfield for 47 years. Mary is a housewife and talented artist.

The O'Leary's have two children,  six grandchildren, and  two great-grandchildren...

The O 'Learys celebrated their anniversary May 7 and 8 in New Harmony, and enjoyed dining at the Red Gerranium. This trip was a gift from their daughters...
