Nadine Miller hosted a 65th wedding anniversary dinner on June 25 at Marcella's Kountry Kitchen for her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oakley Ellis, who observed their 65th anniversary on July 1.

Oakley is the son of the late Charlie and Rose Ellis of the Johnsonville area, while Alberta is the daughter of the late Elijah and Grace Jones, of Orchardville. They were married July 1, 1929 in Fairfield, by Judge Kurr.

They have spent most of their married life on a farm southwest of Johnsonville, moving to Cisne in 1985.

The Ellises are members of the Providence General Baptist Church near the Sam Dale Lake area. Mr. Ellis serves as a deacon in the church.

They have one daughter,  three grandsons, and six great-grandchildren.
