A Fairfield couple, Geraldine and Edna Galloway, will reach a milestone in their married life Sunday, May 1, they will be married fifty years.
The Galloways will observe the event during regular Sunday morning servicesat Boyleston United Methodist Church where Bro. Galloway is pastor.
Geraldine is the son of the late Charles Abner Galloway, of Fairfield. Hiswife is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvanus Poore, of Enfield.
Geraldine and Edna were married in Galatia May 1, 1933, by Rev. W. E.Shaeffer. Rev. Shaeffer was a former pastor at Ellen Moore United MethodistChurch in Fairfield where the Galloways attended fifty years ago.
Accompanying them to Galatia and serving as attendants were Edna's parents,the late Mr. and Mrs. Poore and her sister, Mrs. Bert Murphy, of Newburgh, Ind.
The couple became acquainted during the time Edna was working in the officeof the Sexton Company and was attending church in Fairfield.
Bro. Galloway has been a minister for 52 years, pastoring 19 churches duringthat period of time in Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri.
He was a school administrator forty seven years teaching and serving inadministrative positions in high schools and junior colleges. He formerly taughtmath at Washington University in St. Louis.
Bro. Galloway is retired from teaching. He is in his 4th year as pastor atthe church in Boyleston. Geraldine is active in the Wayne County Gospel SingingConvention and has served as president of the organization during a 17 year span.
