Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Johnson, of Route 2, Wayne City, will celebrate their  40th wedding anniversary Sunday, June 27, with open house in the community room at Wayne City.

The reception will be held between the of 2 and 5 p.m. Friends and relatives of the Johnsons are invited to attend. It is requested that gifts be omitted.

Mrs. Johnson is the former Opal Talbert, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Silas A. Talbert, north of Wayne city. Her husband's parentswere the late Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson, also of the Wayne City area.

Mrs. Johnson taught schools in Wayne county for 16 years then worked as a postal clerk for 30 years, retiring in 1972.

The Johnsons were married June 30, 1936.

They have three children.  The couple has seven grandchildren.
