Enjoyed Trip West
Wayne Co. Press
After 1978
Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Bullard have returned to their home in Cisne after a vacation trip in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
"Our first stop," said Mrs. Bullard, "was in Rolla, Mo., where we visited Lowell's nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Hale and Bradford Hale. Before leaving Rolla, we toured the Museum "Memoryville U.S.A.," where we saw many antique cars that had been restored.
"Leaving Rolla we drove through the beautiful Ozark mountains to Branson, Mo., where we saw the live re-enactment of Harold Bell Wright's famous book, "The Shepherd of the Hills." On West to Afton, Mo., we stopped to see the Buffalo Ranch.
"Leaving Missouri we traveled through the northern part of Oklahoma, stopping in Nowata to visit a cousin of the late Wiley French, Miss Edith Cornish. Then on to Forgan, Okla., where we stopped to visit Mrs. Kathleen Hardy, a sister of Larry and Bob Hobbs, of Fairfield. Kathleen amd Marie graduated with the class of 1944 at Cisne High School where the Cisne Middle School now stands. Kathleen could not attend the class reunion held at the Ritz Cafe, Aug. 18, but sent her best wishes to all her friends.
"After spending one Sunday in Hugoton, Kans., attending the Malone family reunion, we drove to Perrytown, Tex., and spent the night before heading back to Illinois. On our way back we enjoyed the beauty of the Oklahoma hills. The last day of our journey we spent at the "Call of the Wild" Museum near Poplar Bluff, Mo.
"We arrived back home in time to attend the Cisne Reunion and the Class of 1944 Reunion. We also enjoyed having friends and relatives visit our home during the reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lashbrook from Owensboro, KY., spent the week end with us and got to see a lot of friends.
