Onis and Charlene Carter of Cisne will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 28, 1996 with an open house at the Cisne Community Center from 6 - 8 p.m.

The Carters were married June 28, 1946 at the home of Rev. J. L. Mitchell in Fairfield.  Standing up with the couple were her mother, Lela Hendricks, and her sister, Glenita Elwyn, and his parents, Cora and Joe Carter.

Onis and Charlene are the parents of seven children, (two sons, and five daughters), Malcolm Carter and wife Kathy of Mesa, AZ; Joan VaDonic and husband Davld of Tucson, AZ; Charlotte Bopp and husband Tom of Phoenix, AZ, Cora Shaw and husband Keith of Tucson, AZ; Lela Meagher and husband Norm of Cisne; Carroll Carter and wife Jill of Tucson, AZ; and Kathy Glover and husband Ray of Mt. Erie. They also have 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
