WELL-KNOWN MT. ERIE COUPLE
HONORED ON
45TH ANNIVERSARY
Lyveere and Dorothy MASSIE of Mt. Erie were honored on their 45th wedding anniversary Sunday, May 6, when their family surprised them with a reception at the beautiful new Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Erie.
Friends and relatives gathered in the church basement when their congregation was dismissed. A bountiful meal was served at noon and a beautifully decorated cake was served with punch in the afternoon.
Lyveere MASSIE, son of Grover and Laura MASSIE, and Dorothy McDOWELL, daugther of William and Stella McDOWELL, were married May 6, 1939 in Cisne by Elder Warren D. Crippin at the Crippin home. They were accompanied by Dorothy's sister Lillian McDOWELL and Percy BORAH.
Lyveere is retired from many years of teaching and coaching in the Mt. Erie area. They are parents of two sons, Stephen, who with his wife, Lillie and children, Tim and Melinda, live at West Salem; and Kevin and his wife Peggy who live near Mt. Erie. Kevin's daughter, Krista, from Wonder Lake, was present for the celebration. Peggy's daughter, Desiree and son, Jaromy from Wadesville, Ind., also were present.
Brothers Present
The MASSIEs were especially pleased to have Lyveere's brothers and their spouses present. They are Norman and Anna Fern MASSIE from Fairfield; Clyde and Nola MASSIE and family, Patty and Clayton; Chris and Linda and sons, Craig and Justin from Mt. Erie; and Dwain and Maxine MASSIE from Albion. Dorothy's sister, Lillian and husband, Percy BORAH, also attended.
Over one hundred people were present for this joyous celebration. The MASSIEs received many beautiful cards and gifts. They wish to thank their many friends and relatives for helping them celebrate their 45th anniversary and making it such a happy and memorable day.
