WAYNE CO., IL WWII MAN KILLED IN ACTION ARTICLES and PHOTO |
Morton G. GALBRAITH
Mr. and Mrs. Morton Galbraith of Cisne R2 received a letter
from the War Department this week notifying them with regret that the War
Department now presumed that Sgt. Morton G. Galbraith, missing in
action with the 28th Infantry of Third Army at Wettlinger, Germany September
17, 1944, was dead.
No trace of him has been found since that time, and the family has had no word from any other participant. This is the usual time limit the army makes for such casualties missing in action, and after one year they are presumed to be dead, although there are always that possibility that he might still be living dazed, or in some other mysterious way kept from home folks . |
