Morris was born about July 31, 1841, Belmont Co., Ohio
Morris died January 8, 1913 in Cottage Grove, Lane Co., Oregon

Married Amanda J. Johnson on January 5, 1864 in Greene Co., Indiana - by
Solomon Wilkerson, J. P. according to affidavit from Greene Co., but he says on
his pension application that they were married at Salsberry, Greene Co.,

Affidavit from Mathew & Mary E. Corwin of Worthington, Greene Co.,  Indiana.
Mary is the sister of Amanda Johnson.

Amanda Johnson Spriggs was born September 25, 1846 in Noble Co., Ohio
Amanda died February 10, 1929 in Cottage Grove, Lane Co., Oregon

May 28, 1870, Morris said he was residing in Salsbery, Greene Co.,  Indiana
Affidavit of neighbor:
Samuel Spriggs, age 62 on July 7, 1882, of Cisne, Wayne Co., Illinois
Others included Newton McRill, Wm. H. Spriggs, Catherine H. Reames, sister
of Morris who was residing in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1913

They were living in Cedar Vale, Chautauqua Co., Kansas on July 21,  1892.

Jerilyn's  comments.
Morris D. Spriggs was a son of William Oliver Spriggs and Sidney  James.
Sidney James Spriggs died October 2, 1867 and William Oliver  Spriggs married
Matilda Jane Dye Leak, widow of Bazzel Leak, on January 21,  1868.  William and
Matilda both died in Logan, Phillips Co., Kansas.

Morris D. Spriggs was one of 7 children, most of whom lived and died in
Wayne Co., Illinois
