Note from Sue:
When I was looking at the Rev. War Pension Index, I notice another Sloan, James.  Of course I looked at it and did a double take.  So much of the information on this file was clone with Thomas Sloan file.  I suggest for the simular data found (below), if you are researching the Sloan name, Dianna and I strongly think Thomas and James were brothers.

The following information in James Sloan file matched information in Thomas Sloan file.
Both born a year apart, same county and state, both moved very young to the same place, both served under same commanders, Thomas removed to Tennessee and James said his Mother removed to Tennessee.

James Sloan married a lady name Frances and they had a son named Thomas, they moved to Mecklenburg Co. North Carolina, where he applied for his pension on Feb. 26, 1833.
