Jonathan Cisne, (Cessna) a son of Emanuel Cisne was born in Monroe County, Ohio July 28 1832.
He received a fair education and at an early age was employed on a steamboat plying between Cincinnati and New Orleans. He came to Illinois in the year 18-- and went into the mercantile business at Flora Ill. He married Sarah Bolinger in the year of 1857 at Flora , Clay County Ill.
He went to Pikes Peak prospecting. In 1860 he came home, returning to the Rocky Mountains in 1861. He came home again in the winter of 1861 and volunteered in the war of 1862. He was retained in service as Provost-Marshall at Columbus Ky, serving the following spring. He was then detailed as a Government Detective, serving as such until May 28, 1865 being discharged at Trenton N.J. he died seven months after arriving home on Jan 16 1865 being only 33 years of age.
