GEORGE SIMMS (deceased) was born February 3, 1825, in Buckinghamshire, England, and came to Wayne County, Ill, in 1830, and settled where he died August 13, 1880, and was buried in the Bovee Cemetery.
He was a member of the Christian Church, and was married, May 13, 1847, to Hannah Ades, of Wayne County, Ill., who was born July 18, 1824, in Carroll County, Ohio, by whom the subject had four children, viz.;
He owned 430 acres of land in Wayne County, Ill, at the time of his death, and was engaged in farming and stock raising. Politics, Republican.
