Ambrose M. Martin

1884 Biographical Sketches of Lamard Twp

AMBROSE M. MARTIN, carpenter, Jeffersonville, was born in Beaver County, Penn., March 16, 1820, and is a son of William Martin (deceased), also a native of Pennsylvania. Mr. Martin was brought up and educated in Ohioville, Penn. While youug, he learned the carpenter trade, at which he has worked principally ever since. He came to Bedford Township, this county, in 1855, and farmed in connection with his trade for seven years and in 1862 removed to Jeffersonville.

On the 14th day of October, 1845, he married Mary R., daughter of Charles Duncan. They have had eight children, but three of whom are living—

  2. Arthur B. N
  3. Della A.

Mr. Martin is a member of the Masonic fraternity. He owns forty-five acres of land, besides town property.

His daughter, Abbie J., is married to Matthias Ulm.
