Mrs. J. D. C. Day
Augusta Mabella Todd was born
near Junction City, Trinity County, California May 12, 1863 and passed
away September 27, 1928, aged 65 years, four months and 15 days.
She was the daughter of
George and
Martha Todd. She was united in marriage to
J. D. C. Day, of near Fairfield,
Ill. on September 2nd, 1890. To this union fifteen children were born,
seven sons and eight daughters. One daughter,
Iva, died January 3rd, 1912, aged
35 years.
Charles died March
28, 1911 at the age of 24 years.
Delbert
died March 18th, 1917, age 8 years. Those living are

Detroit, Mich. Besides her companion she is survived by the five sons
and seven daughters, 22 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. In
addition to raising her own children, she raised
Iva's two girls, Mary and
Cynthia, and
Rhoda's baby, Morris.
She was converted at the Union Church, at a meeting by the
Rev. Joseph Wood, December 21, 1903.
She was a kind and loving companion and mother.
Mrs. Day wrote the above obituary some years before she passed away,
with the exception, of course, of the date of her death.
The funeral took place at the Union church southeast of Merriam on
Sept. 29th,
Rev. J. W. Borah
conducting the service. Burial was in the Union Cemetery.
