Sarah Elizabeth, daughter of James N and Gracie Jane Tibbs was born in Wayne Co., February 14, 1862. Her entire life has been spent in and near the community of her birth, where she has endeared herself to a great circle of friends.

About twenty years ago she united with the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints at Zenith and has been a faithful member since that time.

She was united in marriage with Thomas J. Thompson, June 15, 1881. Twelve children were born to this union, two of whom died in infancy and one son, James Henry passed away January 29, 1929.

For the past three years she has been in failing health. The end came at her home near Zenith, Sunday evening, January 3, 1937, age 74 years, 10 months and 20 days.

She is survived by her companion, five sons, Earl and George, of Prophetstown; Charles, Orlando and Hobart, of near Xenia; four daughters, Nettie Miller, of Dixon; Grace Jones, of Cisne; Della Hargrave, of Erie and Ollie Presnell, of Prophetstown; fifty grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Tibbs, of Rinard, and J.O. Tibbs, of Flora, and other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted from the L.D.S. church at Zenith, Tuesday morning at ten o'clock, by Elder Harry Henson and Elder Lewis DeSelms. Interment was in the Bally cemetery.
