Henry Gill, 96, Flora, Dies;
Was Farmer, Businessman

Henry Gill, 96, of Flora, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 1992, at St. Andrews Hospital in Effingham. His death was attributed to causes incidental to his advanced age. He had developed diabetes in recent years.

Mr. Gill, a native of Wayne county, was a retired farmer and had operated Gill's Stores in Wayne and Clay counties.

Rites Wednesday Funeral rites will be at 2p.m. Wednesday from the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with Rev. Roscoe Rose officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon to the funeral hour Wednesday.

He was born in Wayne County July 22, 1896, the son of Samuel and Louretta Hubble Gill.

On Nov. 14, 1923, in Olney, he was married to Maggie Dee Williams. She passed away Jan. 16, 1985. Mr. Gill was a member of the Flora Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to the Clay County Diabetes Association. The Survivors Surviving are one daughter, Verilee Gill of Flora; and a number of nieces and nephews.
