OBITUARY |
Preston Simmons, 81, Expires
Preston P. Simmons, 81, a retired
rural mail carrier, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday aththe Way-Fair Restorium.
Mr. Simmons had been a patient of the nursing home about 1 1/2 years.
Rites TuesdayFuneral services will
be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Geff United Methodist Church,
with the Rev. Charles Hutson and Rev. Harold Carrol officiating.
Burial will be in the Cisne Cemetery.
Friends may call at DeSelm's Funereal Home in Cisne after 5 p.m. Monday (today).
Mr. Simmons was born Mar. 29, 1892
in Wayne County, the son of Abraham and Sarah (Asa) Simmons.
The well-known man carried the rural
mail for many years in Geff.
He was a member of the Geff United
Methodist Church. The
SurvivorsSurviving are his widow, Maude; three sons, Welby, of Ballwin,
Mo.; Irvin of Pittsburg, Ill.; and Maxof Tuscola; two daughters, Mrs. John
Martin of Carmi; Mrs Kenneth Eckstein, of Minooka; 12 grandchildren; one
great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Irene) Lambrich and Mrs.
Loy (Corine) Stopher, both of Cisne.
