OBITUARY |
James Halleck Tibbs, son of Thomas and Mary Virginia Tibbs, was born in Wayne county, Illinois, March 5, 1868; departed this life July 27th, 1935, near Cullom, Illinois, age 67 years, four month and twenty-two days.
He was united in marriage to Stella Weaver, May 27, 1890. To this union eight children were born. Two died in in fancy [sic] and Flo at the age of five years. Five survive him, Sanford near Geff, Ill., Roy, Edwin, Vern, and Florence, near Cullom, Ill. He leaves his faithful companion, the five children, four sisters, Mrs. Della Wilson, of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Martha Robbins, of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Lorna Hawk, near Geff, and Mrs. Nettie Weaver, near Cisne; eleven grandchildren and many other relative and friends.
He was converted in 1893 and united with the Round Prairie C.E. church.
Funeral services were conducted at Round Prairie Baptist church, July 19, 1935 by Eld. C.L. Wood. Interment in the Hale cemetery.
