The remains of R. H. Whitson, who died in San Francisco on January 30, were cremated at the Odd Fellows cemetary on Tuesday February 1. Mr. Whitson was an old time printer, having run the News at Dunsmuir, Shasta county for a number of years, and he was also an old employee of the Petaluma Courier and Argus, but of late years he was in the employ of the Southern Pacific R. R. Co.

He has been twice married, his first wife having passed away several years ago. By the first marriage two children were born, Paul and Turney Whitson, both of whom survive. He was a native of California, aged 52 years, 7 months and 14 days. He leaves three brothers, Frank, George and Edward Whitson, and one sister, Mrs. A. J. Murphy of Washington
