Mrs. J. B. Creighton, daughter of James and Catherine Foster, was born on May 15, 1849. She was united in marriage with Joseph Benson Creighton in 1867 in Parker county, Indiana, by Ezekial Wright.

A year before their marriage, together they united with the Church of Christ at Old Union in Putnam county, Indiana. In later years they united with the Church of Christ in Fairfield, Illinois. Her husband died June 14, 1928.

To this union were born eight children: James, of Fairfield; John, of Decatur, Ill.; Joe, of Los Angeles, Calif.; Myrtle Shaw, of St. Francisville, Ill.; Susie Weedon, of Fairfield, Ill.; Jake Creighton, of Arkansas City, Kansas; Maggie Bond, of Green Valley, Ill.; and Mary Adams, of Fairfield, Ill.

She also leaves thirty-eight grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Creighton has been in declining health for the past six months. The past several weeks, the end has been expected most any day. Just six days after her eighty-sixth birthday anniversary, on May 21st, she quietly passed away.

The funeral took place at the Christian church on Friday afternoon, and burial was in Maple Hill cemetery.
