Doris Leona Whalen, 70, of Lodi, CA, died 8:30 am Aug 10, 1996, at the home of her son in Joliet (IL).

She was employed at Illinois Bell Telephone Co. in Joliet and at the AT&T Bell Lab in Naperville.

Mrs. Whalen was born Dec 9, 1925, in Bluford, a daughter of Alfred and Jewell (Williams) Davis. April 24, 1949, in Mt. Vernon, she married Noel Clark Whalen, who survives.

Services will be 10:30 am Tuesdady at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Hefner officiating. Burial will be in Thomason Cemetery, Wayne City.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm today at Hughey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Whalen is survived by her husbabnd, Noel C. Whalen of Lodi, CA; daughter Sandra Bauer and husband Horst of Morgan Hill, CA; son, Gary Whalen and wife JoAnn of Joliet; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Marjorie Holloway and husband Jim of San Jose, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a member of Lodi Avenue Baptist Church in Lodi, CA. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

Mrs. Whalen was preceded in death by her parents.
