William Whitson was born in Wayne county, Illinois, March 12, 1857, and departed this life February 7, 1937, at Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and five days. He came to Kansas in 1881 and was married to Emma F. Sill, March 27, 1881. To this union one son was born. His whereabouts is unknown.

They homesteaded four miles south-west of town where they resided until his health failed.

Mt. Whitson was one of a large family, of whom all have preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Emma F. Whitson of Logan, and friends.

Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. S. Archer. Interment was in the Logan cemetery. – Kansas Paper.
