Mrs. James H. Beeson died at the family home in Berry township, July 2nd after a prolonged illness at the age of seventy four years. The passing of this splendid and consecrated woman leaves a vacancy in the home which cannot be filled. She is survived by four sons and one daughter, on son Arthur Beeson, manager of the Fairfield Lumber Co., of this city who have the sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement.
Jemima Jane, daughter of James and Margaret Whitson was born in Wayne County, November 26, 1853. She was united in marriage with James H. Beeson, April 18, 1873. Six children were born to this union, one daughter having died in infancy. Many years ago she was converted and united with the Round Prairie General Baptist Church of which she was a loyal member the remainder of her life. She was a good woman and was one of the sturdy, industrious and reliable folks that have contributed toward the upbuilding of the community in which she lived. For several months she has been in failing health and gradually grew worse. All the care and kindly ministrations of her children and the kind friends and neighbors could not restore her and the Death Angel came to relieve her at her home in Berry township early Monday morning, July 2, 1928, aged 74 years, 7 months, and 6 days.
She is survived by four sons; Arthur of Fairfield, Fred and Everett of Geff and Luke of La Grange, one daughter, Fannie Whitson, of Winona, six grandchildren, three brothers and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral services were conducted from the home by Elder W. D. Crippin, Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock. Interment was in the Oak Valley cemetery.
