OBITUARY

JEPTHA MALEN BORAH

 
Jeptha Malen Borah, son of George and Mary Borah, was born near Sims,  Illinois,February 15th, 1885. He departed this life May 30, 1930 at the age of 45 years, 3 months and 15 days. He was the oldest son of a family of five children.
 
He was united in marriage to Miss Grace Smith, July 26, 1906. To this union were born four children; Mrs. Glen Willeman, of Wayne City, Illinois,  Mrs. Hazel Weaver, of Fairfield,Illinois and Golda and Edwin, at home.

He was converted and united with the Sims Christian church in 1906, of which church he was a member at the time of his death. He was baptized by his brother, Rev. Ed Borah.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, his four children, his mother, Mrs. George Borah, of Sims, Illinois, one brother, Rev. Ed Borah, of Haubstadt, Indiana, three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Howell, Mrs. Dora Henderson, and Mrs. Nell Tibbs, all of Sims, Illinois, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jep, as he was known to his friends, has been active in the public affairs of life and has filled positions of trust and honor.  He had a reputation for fearlessness and courage and in each position filled by him he did his full and complete duty.  He will be missed in his usual walks of life, but especially will he be missed in the home. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of their wide circle of friends.
 

Be still sad heart and stop repining;
Behind the clouds is the sun still shining.
Thy fate is the common fatge of all,
Into each life some rain must fall;
Some days much be dark and dreary.
Funeral services were held Sunday, afternoon at 2:30June 1st, 1930 at the First Christian church, Sims, Illinois, conducted by Rev. Walter Fasnacht, of Louisville,Ill., assisted by  Rev. Fred Lappin, of Wayne City, Illinois:  The funeral was attended by a large crowd.Interment taking place in Pin Oak cemetery.

Vernon, June Curry of Chicago,Mrs. Ester Smith of Lincoln, Ill., Mr. Fred Rogers of Springfield, Ill.; Mr.James Smith of Wilmington, Ill.; Miss Thelma Tibbs, of Alton, Ill., and Miss Nona Tunnel, of Salem, Ill.
