Well-Known Jasper Township Farmer Laid to Rest Friday Afternoon in Ebenezer Cemetary.
Henry Johnson White, well-known Jasper township resident passed away Wednesday evening, October 5th, at his home northeast of Fairfield. He had been in poor health for some time suffering with a heart complication and other ailments incident to his advanced age.
Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Friday afternoon at the Ebenezer church by Rev. Ira Ellis. Burial was in the Ebenezer cemetary.
Henry Johnson White, son of James and Malinda Martin White, was born in Jasper township, on August 19, 1856. He died October 5th, 1938, aged 82 years, one month and sixteen days.
On October 14th, 1894 he was united in marriage to Margaret Crews. To
this union six children were born: James White, of St. Louis, Missouri;
Charles White and Lucinda Sweeney, of Chicago; Ted White, of Ucon, Idaho;
and Edythe Rispoli, of San Francisco, California. One son, Henry White,
died in
March, 1922.
Besides his widow and five children, he leaves surviving one brother, William Crews, of Jasper township, and eight grandchildren, James Jr. and Billy White, of St. Louis, Missouri; Patrick White, of Chicago; Louis, Margaret, Deloris, Henry and Gaylord White, of Ucon, Idaho.
