Mrs. George Kissner Killed in Car Wreck
Dies at East St. Louis Hospital An Hour After Highway Mishap Saturday

A well-known Wayne City woman, Mrs. George Kissner, 36, was fatally injured in an auto accident near East St. Louis Saturday morning.
Less sseriously injured were three other Wayne City women, Mrs. Noel Thomason, Mrs. Joe Thomason and Mrs. Bill O'Daniels. Critically injured was Mrs. Kissner's sister, Mrs. Beatrice Addison, of Belleville.
The occupants of the second car involved, three colored men from East St. Louis, were all injured critically.
To Fairfield Hospital
Mrs. Noel Thomason, Mrs. Joe Thomason and Mrs. O'Daniels were transferred from an East St. Louis hospital to Fairfield Memorial Hospital by Richardson ambulance Sunday afternoon. All are listed in "good" condition at the hospital Monday afternoon (today). Mrs. Addison is still a patient at St. Marys hospital in East St. Louis.
Mrs. Kissner died at the East St. Louis hospital an hour after the accident from severe head injuries. She also had a leg fracture.
Her husband operates the Kissner grain elevator at Wayne City and is a partner in the Kissner & Weaver Implement business there.
The four Wayne City women were enroute to St. Louis for the Veterans Day holiday and stopped at Belleville to get Mrs. Addison, who was driving them in Mrs. Kissner's car on into St. Louis.
The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kissner will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Wayne City Baptist church, with Rev. H.H. Mayberry officiating. Interment will be in Thomason cemetery. The body will be at the Richardson Chapel until the funeral hour.
Cecil, daughter of Benjamin H. and Ida Catron Haynes, was born in Jefferson county February 20th, 1925.
She was married to George Kissner November 1st, 1940.
Surviving are her husband; four sons, Bill of Wayne City; Bob, Tom and Jerry, all at home; one daughter, Linda, at home; two grandchildren; three brothers Leslie, of Akron, Colo.; Rufus, of Lincoln; and Bennie of Bluford; one sister, Beatrice Addison, of Belleville; and her grandmother, Mrs. William Catron, of Bluford.
