James Malone died at his home in Round Prairie Monday, Sept 21, 1903. He was born July 17, 1832, and was 71 years, 2 months and 4 days old at the time of his death.

He was married to Elizabeth Withrow March 17, 1859. Sixteen children were born to this union, of whom ten still survive, with their mother, to mourn the loss of a kind husband and a loving father. He was a good neighbor and held in high esteem by all who knew him. The funeral occurred Tuesday and was largely attended. Interment in Bailey cemetery.
