Mrs. Loretta Ferne Parson, 77, of Payson, Ariz., died Monday, Jan 21, 2002, in Arizona.

She had been in failing health.

Mrs. Parson was a native of Wayne County and a homemaker.

Her husband preceded her in death.

She was born in Wayne County June 8, 1924, the daughter of Amos and Naomi Peddicord. Her parents are deceased.

Funeral services are being held in Arizona.

Surviving are three sons, all living in the western US; Gary Melton, Leon Melton and Glen Melton; a brother, Reyburn Peddicord of Wayne City; a sister, Faith Webber of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and a number of grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
