Mrs. Wm. J. Peddicord
Jemima Agnes McCoy-Peddicord, daughter of Wm. and Elizabeth McCoy was born March 30, 1859; departed this life December 5th, 1923, age 64 years, 8 months and 5 days. She was born in Warwick county, Indiana and spent her girlhood there, coming to Wayne county, Illinois, with her parents at the age of sixteen years, where she lived till the time of her death at her home in Berry township.
She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with the M.E. church and lived a true and faithful life.
She was united in marriage to Wm. Jasper Peddicord October 3, 1876. to this union were born seven children: Nannie Mae, who died at the age of five years; Frank, Alfred, Amos, and Mrs. Ollie Shehorn who live near the home place; Rassler, of Canute, Okla., and Miss Sarah, at home.
She had been in poor health for some time. She was a devoted wife and mother. She leaves an aged companion, six children and ten grandchildren; two brothers, Lafayette McCoy, of Wayne City, and Uriah McCoy, of Mt. Vernon, two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Richardson of Sims and Mrs. Melvina Brown of Blueford and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
The funeral was conducted at the Bailey church by Rev. Presley, pastor of the M.E. church of Cisne, assisted by her pastor and interment made in the cemetery nearby.
