Joe B. White, 78, died at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 1991, at his home in Mt. Vernon.
He had been in declining health but his death was unexpected. A Wayne County native, Mr. White was a retired Airtex employee.
Rites Tuesday
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Nale's Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Interment will be in Bovee cemetery. Visitation at Nale's will be 6 to 8 Monday evening (tonight).
He was born Nov. 26, 1912, the son of W. L. and Matilda Walker White of the Covington area northwest of Fairfield. Mr. White was a member of the Victory Church. He was married to the former Reba Jones. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and one sister.
The Survivors
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Ben of Fairbury, Dwane of Morris, Roy of Jackson, Tenn.; Carson of Millington, Tenn.; and Dannie of Fairfield; four daughters, Mrs. David (Norma) Potts of Fairfield; Mrs. Herman (Carmen) Smallwood of Mokena; Mrs. Jim (Sarah) Pollard of Fairfield; and Mrs. Paul (Marilyn) Gabel of Morris; three sisters, Gladys Tierney of St. Louis, Mo.; Grace Miller of Grantie City and Janelle Sellars of Grand Ridge; 30 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
