Peter Stoltz Dies
Peter Stoltz was born to George and Margores Hinkle Stoltz on September 10, 1844 at Stoltz Prairie in Wabash County, IL. He departed this life at his home in Merriam, IL on February 13, 1926. Burial was in Union Cemetery.
His father came from Germany at the age of 10 and later came to Illinois and his mother was from North Carolina. They were married in 1841 and bore 13 children.
Peter Stoltz as a youth joined the Lutheran church. He was married to Mary L. King in 1872. To this union one daughter Emma and a son John W. were born, both of whom preceded their father in death. Peter later married Louella Thomas Boze in 1893. Twins were born and the son died in infancy and the daughter Louella Thomas Stoltz survives. The mother departed this life March 26, 1894. Peter was married to Clara A. Berst January 27, 1901 who yet survives.
Peter is survived by his wife, two brothers, Jacob and John H., both of Mt. Carmel, 3 sisters, Mrs. Margaret Kolhaas, Mrs. Lora Litherland and Mrs. Clara Foster, all of California, and one daughter Mrs. Grant Hughes of Jacksonville, IL
