Rantoul, Mrs. Gertie Yocum, 72, 327 E. Sangamon, Rantoul, died at about 1:15 a.m. Friday (April 17, 1970) at Mercy Hospital, U.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul.  The Rev. Roger Compton will officiate.   Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the chapel from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Mrs. Yocum was born Sept. 13, 1897 at Sims, a daughter of Williamand Elizabeth Shehorn Malone.   She was married Sept. 25, 1917 at Sims to Orfice Yocum, who preceded her in death in 1957.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Thelma Roberts, Rantoul, Mrs. Bernadine Roberts, Bondville, Mrs. Alberta Farmer, Rantoul, and Mrs. Wilma Hicks, St. Joseph; two sons, Dale, Rantoul and Bob, at home; two brothers,  Glenn and Robert Malone, both of Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell Barnard,  Wayne City and Mrs. Burl Butcher, Sims; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Yocums came to the Rantoul area in 1935.   Mrs. Yocum was a member of the Baily Baptist Church.
