Eli D. Barnard, well-known farmer in western Wayne county, passed away Thursday evening, May 28th, 1942 at his home in Hickory Hill township. He had been in failing health for three months. He was aged 79 years eight months and eleven days.

Funeral services were held at the Bailey church Saturday morning by Rev. Guy Roney, assisted by Rev. Stephen Shehorn. Burial was in the Bailey cemetery.
