Retired Farmer Had Been in
Failing Health for Some Time
Rites Friday
Clarence Barnard, 78, retired Cisne farmer, died at his home in that community about nine o’clock Wednesday morning, following a long period of failing health.
Mr. Barnard operated a farm northwest of Geff for a number of years, retiring and moving into Cisne four years ago.
Rites Friday Afternoon
Funeral services will be conducted from the Cisne Methodist church at 1:30 Friday afternoon, with Rev. Charles B. Johnston, assisted by Rev. L.E. Lawler. Interment will be in Bailey cemetery. The DeSelms Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Clarence, son of Sylvester and Easter Barnard, was born in HickoryHill Township February 22nd, 1880. He grew to manhood in the vicinity of his birth.
Married In 1903
He was married to Effie Ellis August 19th, 1903, with no children being born to this union.
Mr. Barnard first joined the Bailey church but later transferred his membership to the Cisne Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife, Effie; two brothers, Arthur, of Wayne City, and Orda, of Cisne; three sisters, Mrs. George Read, Mrs. Lillie Barnard and Mrs. Hattie Wilson, all of Wayne City.
