Tilden H. Powless only son of John and Amanda Powless was born in Wayne County, Illinois Jan. 5th 1876 and departed this life at his home in Indian Prairie township Jan. 30th 1925 aged 49 years and 25 days.

He was united in marriage with Miss Winnie Schell, Sept. 12th 1896. To this union nine children were born, one little daughter died in infancy, three sons and five daughters with the wife and a half sister mourn his departure.

For some time he has been in failing health and for the past few weeks his suffering has been intense. He realized there was no possible hope for his recovery and often expressed his readiness to go and meet his loved ones on the other shore. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Bucher, Saturday Jan. 31st at 11 o’clock. Interment was in the Cisne cemetery.
