Mrs. Alice Carpenter, 85, passed away Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.L. Towns, near Cisne. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at two o’clock at the Christian church in Cisne. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Carpenter was country correspondent to the Press from the Pleasant Grove neighborhood for many years. She had been ill for eight months suffering from hardening of the arteries.
