GILLISON, MRS. JOHN (NANCY MORLAN)
ANOTHER PIONEER GONE

Died, at her residence 1/2 mile northeast of Fairfield, February 10th, 1872, Mrs. NANCY GILLISON, aged about 82 years. Mrs. Gillison was born in North Carolina in the year 1790. Her maiden name was MORLAN.

Emigrated in childhood with her parents to Kentucky, where she lived till she was married to John Gillison, in the year 1809. Thence she removed to Gallatin County in this State, where she professed faith in Christ and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1817 she removed to Burnt Prairie in White county where she resided until about three years ago---since which time she resided at the place where she died. From the time of her conversion her house was a preaching place for 40 years. And the weary itinerant ever in her house found a welcome home.

She lived in the church of her choice for over 58 years, during which time she was an active, zealous, working christian. Her last illness lasted four weeks, during which time she never murmured but was patient but was patient and resigned and waited the call of her Heavenly Master. I was permitted to visit her during her illness, and she expressed herself as not having a doubt of her acceptance with God, and that she soon expected to join her Savior in the air chimes of glory beyond the cold stream of death.
