The funeral of Edna Y. Lesher, 89, 2025 E. Lincoln St, Bloomington, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington.
The Rev. James Bortell will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the memorial home.
Mrs. Lesher died at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday (Oct 13, 1992) at Bro Menn Regional Medical-Center, Normal, where she had been a patient three days.
She was born June 30, 1903, at Mount Erie, a daughter of Edgar Rice and Emma Roberts Yohe. She married George G. Lesher Oct 13, 1924, at Peoria. He died Oct. 6, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, Forrest Lee, Ashland, Ore., and Robert E., Tucson, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
Mrs. Lesher was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Normal, and its Charity Circle. She was also a 50-year member of the Letitia Green Stevenson Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the McLean County Genealogical and McLean County Historical societies.
Mrs. Lesher was a member of Felicity Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Normal, and a life member of the Home Sweet Home Mission Women's Auxiliary. She also was a member of Friday Evening History Club, McLean County Homemakers Extension Association and Bloomington-Normal Woman's Club.
Mrs. Lesher attended Illinois State Normal University for two years. She had worked for State Farm Insurance Co. in Bloomington many years, retiring in 1968.
