Alfred Jones, 59, well-known Mt. Erie farmer and father of Mrs. Bill Gaither here, died at nine o'clock Wednesday morning at the Marion veterans hospital.

Mr. Jones had been hospitalized the past three or four weeks with a virus infection.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon from the Dixon & Crippin Funeral Home, with Dr. Cameron Harmon in charge.  Interment will be in Maple Hill cemetery.

Mr. Jones operated a large farm south of Mt. Erie and has lived the greater part of his life in Mt. Erie, Massilon and Jasper townships.

He was a native of Rock Island, Tennessee, being born in that city December 25th, 1896.

He was married to the former Mildred Matthews, of this city, and one daughter was born to this union,

Surviving are his widow, Mildred; the daughter, Jeanne, wife of Bill Gaither, North West Second street; a brother, Jim Jones, of Geff; and one sister, Sadie, of near Mt. Erie.

The body will be at the funeral home until the funeral hour.
