James L. (Jim) Jones
Oldtimer, Dies

James L. "Jim" Jones, 92 of Geff, died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 1986 in the Skilled Care Unit of Fairfield Memorial Hospital of the infirmities of age.

Mr. Jones was a farmer and oil field worker. He was also the Democratic supervisor in Jasper township for many years.

Rites Wednesday

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Born in Tennessee, April 14, 1894, Mr. Jones was the son of John and Elizabeth Jones. He married the former Cena Thompson Jan. 26, 1916, in Doniphan, Mo.

The Jones' lived throughout Indiana and Missouri but spent most of their lives in Wayne county.

The Survivors

Survivors include his wife, Cena, of Geff; one son, Kenneth, of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Marcella Chervinko, of Tulsa, Okla.; one brother,Robert Jones, of Mt. Erie; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
