Lawrence Dow Bullard, well-known and respected Johnsonville resident passed away at his home there Sunday morning. He had been in failing health for some time suffering with ailments incident to his advanced age. He was aged eighty years, three months and five days.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Johnsonville Monday morning by Rev. Fred Weir, of Vienna. Interment was in the Johnsonville Cemetery.
Lawrence Dow, son of Lorenzo and Rhoda Bullard, was born near Johnsonville, March 21, 1861. His entire life has been spent at the place of his birth.
He was united in marriage with Emma Withrow, October 25, 1883. Nine children were born to this union, one having died in infancy. The companion also passed away August 3, 1928.
He was converted and united with the Baptist church in Johnsonville when a young man. Later he transferred his membership to the Bethany Missionary Baptist church of which he remained a faithful member until death. He was the last of a family of twelve children.
He is survived by five sons, [Harvey], John, Edd, Fred and Virgil, all of near Johnsonville, [Mrs. Bessie Brown] of Franklin, Indiana; Rhoda [Bunnell] of Johnsonville, and [Mrs. Irene Leach] of Mt. Vernon.
