Howard (Creighton) Roberts
Dies In Colorado

Howard C. Roberts, 86, of Littleton, Colo., died recently in Colorado. Mr. Roberts was a retired college professor. He was a Wayne County boy, born Nov. 1, 1910. The Roberts family resided in Jasper Township and the father was a supervisor of roads and bridges. The body was cremated with no services held.

Mr. Roberts, known here in those school years as Creighton Roberts, obtained his undergraduate degrees from the University of Illinois and worked in research positions in oil exploration and for the Association of American Railroads. He was a professor of engineering at the University of Illinois in Champaign from 1946 until retirement in 1968. He later taught architectural acoustics at the University of Colorado from 1979 to 1982. He also had worked as a consultant in noise control and precision measurement. He was the author of several books, technical papers and patents.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth C. and two daughters, Anne R. Dunn, of Huntsville, Ala.; and Margaret R. Mall, of Lakeland.

When his father died, the wife and children moved to Fairfield and bought a home of [sic] S.E. Sixth and East Douglas. Creighton graduated from Fairfield Community High School.
