Aged Sims Resident Passed Away
At Orchardville Thursday, August 16th
Leander David (Lee) Henderson, retired farmer and Sims resident, died Thursday, August 16th, at Orchardville, after a period of failing health.
Funeral services were conducted from the Bailey General Baptist church Saturday, August 18th, with Rev. Lloyd Trotter and Rev. Ora McRill officiating. Interment was in Bailey cemetery.
Mr. Henderson had spent some time recently in the Fairfield Memorial hospital and while there was converted to Christ.
Leander David, son of William and Elizabeth Ferguson Henderson, was born in Crawford County, Illinois, May 2nd, 1864.
He was married to Julia H__ and three children were born to this union. His wife and two daughters, Gertie and Blanche, preceded him in death.
Later he was married to Mary Risley Tibbs and four children were born to this union. His wife and the daughter, Viola, preceded him in death.
He was then married to Mary Barnard who preceded him in death only July 21st, one month ago. Charlie Tibbs and seven sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Vess Barnard, of Wayne City; three sons, George and Willie, of Akron, Ohio; and Edgar, of Sims; also one step-son Cloyd, of Hinsboro; 15 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and one brother, George , of Geff.
